We Plant Possibilities.
Every day is an opportunity for learning and growing. Utilizing horticulture as a form of therapy provides an excellent opportunity to promote and inspire the lives of your community. Life is never easy. This is especially true for those with developmental and other disabilities, and for their families.
Seeds of Hope views each situation as an opportunity to grow and learn. Our community comes together to allow each team member a chance to become more magnificent. You need all types of abilities to come together to teach each individual to believe and recognize who they can become. When one client or staff builds on a gift they can share, they are allowing others to recognizes additional gifts they have. This technique allows for a more impactful community to grow and develop.
Our organization began to develop and plant possibilities for adults with various abilities to enhance skills to promote job opportunities. As we continuously evaluate on this venture, we saw that adults needed a more well rounded day. Seeds of Hope also recognized the need for daily respite care for parents and care givers. Our programing evolved to included learning activities, recreational activities, social activities, work activities and hobby related activities. These activities are reflected within our Seeds of Hope Community as well as in our greater community. Examples include working in the greenhouse, taking a walk around the golf course, planting vegetables at the fair or going to the Milwaukee County Zoo. We can’t forget our weekly trips to the Agility Center or YMCA.
Every day is a day for change if we like it or not. Those with various abilities struggle with some of these changes. Seeds of Hope embraces the opportunity to change to meet the needs of different individuals abilities within our community. Our main goal is to help each and every member of our population to believe they can be a successful part of their environment. This takes away some of their anxieties, in order for each person to excel to their fullest extent.
